Dear countrymen, respected compatriots! 

I sincerely congratulate you with a great national holiday -

Day of Reunion and Liberty of Ukraine!  

For centuries our people wanted to live in the independent  state. On January 22, 1919 the Reunion Act was declared in Kyiv'sSophia Square, which united Ukrainian and Western Ukrainian People's Republic and united Ukrainian state appeared on our lands.

The importance of this event goes beyond political and even historical dimension, especially in today’s conditions. A powerful national, moral and spiritual meaning is concentrated in it’s event. Despite centuries of bondage and separation between rival empires Ukrainians showed tremendous vitality and proved to the world that no one and nothing can subdue the united nation that seeks freedom and good life in their own country.

Reunion Day reminds that the power of our country is the unity of Ukrainian lands, Ukraine is not divided, there is no separate Eastern and Western Ukraine, and that we have the united state and we are all one nation.

Reunion Act is a great message for us and our posterity. Only when we are united in our thoughts, goals and efforts we can reach success. Only when we are united by a common national spirit, Ukraine has it’s future.

Today, we should be aware that only due to unity of deeds and solidarity of souls we can achieve the greatest aim - building of economically and spiritually rich, free and democraticUkrainethat our descendants will be proud of.

So, taking care of our Ukrainian unity as the highest value we will achieve the goal!
